CATBELLS

Climb one of the Lake District's most popular and photogenic fells, Cat Bells (451 m), perched on the western shore of Derwentwater.The path ascends steadily from Hawes End through heather slopes and open fellside, with a couple of short, easy rocky steps near the summit. Reach the distinctive rounded top for breathtaking panoramic views over Derwentwater lake, Keswick, Skiddaw, Borrowdale, Newlands Valley, and the surrounding fells on a clear day. Descent follows the same path or extends along the ridge for a gentle loop back to the start.This compact, rewarding hike delivers classic Lake District scenery and is ideal for beginners, families, or anyone wanting to bag an iconic Wainwright peak with stunning lakeside vistas.
